Cooking Classes at Oak & Grain

Not everyone is born Rachael Ray. If you’re the type that needs a little help in the kitchen, or simply have an interest in culinary pursuits, having a few extra tips and tricks up your sleeve might be helpful for weeknight cooking or hosting parties. Although watching Food Network and other cooking channels might be convenient, sometimes a little one-on-one time is much more beneficial. Vacation is the perfect excuse to take the time to brush up on your culinary skills through cooking classes, and here at the Inn at Pleasant Lake, we offer both monthly and private cooking classes. From our on-site restaurant Oak & Grain, Chef Leary leads small groups for one to two hours at a time, with price ranging from $55-$100 a person. Here’s what’s on the menu at our cooking classes here in New London NH.

Cooking Classes With Chef Leary

Culinary offerings in each class are seasonally-inspired, so your new knowledge will still be relevant in the kitchen as soon as you return home. To begin, you’ll learn about Oak & Grain’s local ingredient sourcing, as well as preparation techniques and perfect flavor combinations to remember for future dishes. Discover which beverages pair best with the entree, enhancing flavors you might not have noticed previously.

Although classes differ monthly, a recurring offering within our monthly classes shares classic wine and cheese pairings. Past cooking classes include handmade pasta and learning how to barbecue, and future offerings include holiday baking and much more.

Group Cooking Classes

Although monthly offerings are a great option, private cooking classes are available for groups of five or more as well. Cooking classes serve as a fun family-friendly activity, but can also be used for team building or spending time with friends as one of the cool things to do in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Inns

If you love our cooking classes, we’ll give you a free Inn at Pleasant Lake cookbook after the completion of your fourth cooking class. Chef Leary hails from our restaurant Oak & Grain, so make sure to visit.
