New Hampshire Cooking Classes

Whether enhancing your skills or looking for a fun activity, our New Hampshire cooking classes are taught by Chef Leary in a small group setting. Chef has designed these classes to follow the seasonal menu that made our restaurant the top-rated fine dining establishment in New London. Share the kitchen with Chef Leary and learn the techniques that make our dinners at Oak & Grain at the Inn at Pleasant Lake so special.

Cooking Class Pricing & Details

  • Classes range from $75 – $100 per participant, based on menu content.
  • Take any 4 or more classes and receive a complimentary IPL Cook Book!
  • Participants stay for dinner the night of class and save 10% off dinner price.
  • Want to make it a getaway for two?  We have Stay-and-Play packages available.  Give us a call.
  • Have a group of 5 or more? Getting together with friends?  Call the Inn at 603-873-4833 to arrange a private cooking class for your group or event.

Classes are scheduled monthly based on demand, generally targeting the second Wednesday of each month.  Classes generally offer 1 1/2 – 2 hours of fun filled content.  The topics will focus on seasonally themed dishes from our menus and cover points of interest including local sourcing of unique ingredients, preparation techniques, flavor combinations that tantalize the tongue, finish and presentation, and beverage pairing. Come for one class or come every month! – it is up to you. Stay for dinner at a discounted price, and have guests join you for dinner!

July 11th- Outdoor Cooking Class on Grilling ($75)

Start Time: 4:00 pm
Theme: Grilling to Perfection
Is it art, science, or deeply guarded family secrets? In any case, you are sure to add to your grilling prowess by sharing an afternoon with Chef Leary. This class is staged outdoors (weather permitting), because where else would you hold a grilling class?

August 8th- Outdoor Cooking Class on Appetizers ($75)

Start Time: 4:00 pm
Theme: Awesome Summer Appetizers
Whether heading out on the lake or getting ready for the game, these appetizers will spice up your event. Appetizers are a great opportunity for creativity and flavor. Move beyond the chips & dip and impress your guests. This class is staged outdoors (weather permitting), because appetizers should be portable and enjoyed in a fabulous setting!

September 12th- Fall Desserts ($100)

Start Time: 3:00 pm
Theme: Apples, Apples Everywhere!
It wouldn’t be New England without apples in the fall. Come renew your creativity and spark your inspiration for spicing up your fall deserts. Chef will share some uncommon uses for apples in deserts.

October 10th- Side Dishes and Bread ($100)

Start Time: 3:00 pm
Theme: Comfort Food for Fall Feasts
Making bread doesn’t have to be as frightening as it sounds. And side dishes don’t have to be boring! Cooking for comfort has it’s own appeal – learn these skills you can apply all year long.

November 11th- Fall Food at Its Peak ($100)

Start Time: 4:00 pm
Theme: Fall Food
Learn proper techniques for braising short ribs, preparation for Rosemary Orange Chicken and Fall Vegetable Hash.

December 9th- Christmas Dinner ($100)

Start Time: 4:00 pm
Theme: Christmas Dinner
Prepare yourself for Christmas dinner with a special Hors d’oeuvre, Christmas Dessert and Side Dishes for everyone.
