Inn at Pleasant Lake Events

IPL Tapas Night was a Big Hit!

One of the more significant changes at the Inn at Pleasant Lake has been finding a successor for Chef Brian MacKenzie.  Brian has been with the Inn for 19 years with a stellar reputation, and finding a replacement for our New London, NH restaurant was no small task!  After a nationwide search we found the perfect candidate in Chef Bryan Leary.  We decided that a slower transition would be helpful given the unique nature of our dining experience and so we planned a number of events to introduce our new chef Bryan and to have some fun while we had two chefs on board.  The introductory open house drew wonderful attendance and we were amazed with the appetizers the Chefs prepared.

Inn at Pleasant Lake Tapas Night

Next was our Tapas Night.  This featured Chef Bryan Leary and was designed to demonstrate the diversity of his experience as well as the creativity of his menu designs.  The night was sold out and the Inn was filled with an energy of excitement and anticipation.  We have began taking reservations for our next Tapas Night scheduled for April 20th. Please call 603-873-4833 to reserve your table! If the response continues to be as positive as it has been, we will consider instituting Tapas Night as a feature.  We’d love any comments on our Facebook page where you can also see more detailed posts about the evening.

Tapas Night 3The menu was deigned with a regional theme featuring France, Spain, Korea, and New England, and each flight consisted of two dishes or “tapas”.  The flights were paired with specific wines to perfectly compliment the flavors of that region.  The event was kicked off by Chef MacKenzie and then each flight was introduced by Chef Leary with a brief description of the flavors involved and his choices in preparing the courses.  This was met with rousing applause by our guests as the night progressed, and the feedback by the end of the night was very encouraging.

Tapas Night 1To quote Chef MacKenzie, “Chef Leary was on another level tonight. New London came with open minds and open hearts to experience the soul filled flavor of his food. In my opinion, he will be one of the greats. He cooks from his heart. Chef you killed it. Toques off to you!”

We also wanted to take a moment to recognize our fabulous service team as we received high compliments from our guests.  This was an entirely new format from a service perspective at our New London, NH restaurant, and the team spent hours preparing and was moving all night. It was definitely a high energy night and the service team once again ensured the ultimate experience!

Thanks to the chefs, the team, and especially to our guests who were courageous enough to try something new.  You all made this a very exciting event!
