Room 12 Bed

Room 12: Elegance Meets High Functionality!

Room 12 is a quiet, corner suite on the third floor, with head-on views of Pleasant Lake and Mt. Kearsarge.  It has historically been a favorite of many of our long term, loyal guests.  With the extensive redesign, it now uses space much more efficiently and takes full advantage of the views and natural light available from windows along the Southern and Western exposure.  The sitting area is perfectly positioned to inspire your best work with efficient work space, desk, and wall mounted television.  The modern sofa bed is very handy for families as well.  By re-configuring some of the walls, we were able to re-position the bed to take advantage of both the views and and the television.  This also opened up the opportunity an additional sitting and dressing area on the bathroom side of the room.  We are also working on adding a private refrigerator and Keurig station to complete the luxurious amenities.  Room 12 also has one of our larger whirlpool tubs in the spacious bathroom.

Flooded with natural light from two sides, Room 12 has always had a bright future.  It was hard to imagine how the configuration changes would open the room up, both in terms of space and functionality.  But it worked so well! Again, our design team found a perfect tone to capture the relaxing essence of room, taking advantage of the light and the space.  These earth-tones bring hues of brown and green to the grey base, a rich color that allows the appointments to draw out the key tones.  Our team has been fascinated by how the room takes on different characteristics in the changing light as the day passes.  We’ll let the before images demonstrate what a dramatic change this upgrade has brought to Room 12!  New carpeting, fresh paint, added trim-work including new molded doors, new window treatments and high-end blinds all create a comfortable, relaxing and efficient atmosphere.  The new versatility of this room makes it ideal for anyone from business travel, to romantic escapes, to family vacations.

Structurally, the remnants of a former closet were removed and the walls reconfigured for greater functionality and better use of space.  The floor in the small entry hallway was tiled.  Lighting was added to the closet, as well as sconce lights for the bed area and main sitting area – with dimmer switching to create that perfect ambiance.  Additional electrical outlets were added for all your charging needs.

One of our favorite features of Room 12 now is how the main sitting area works with both the work space and the views. It is inspiring to do creative work with the views of the mountain just outside your window.  It’s also a cozy spot to relax after a long soak in the deep whirlpool tub while enjoying a bottle of champagne and house made chocolates. Our goal was to bring this room to it’s full potential and create a more luxurious and relaxing ambiance. Room 12 is your comfortable base for an ideal get-away!

As with all projects at the Inn, this was a great team effort!  I’d like to especially thank my beautiful wife, Jennifer, for her amazing eye for all the finishing touches that make my hard work look so good.  In particular, her clairvoyance on how awesome the valances would look in that room was amazingly unpredictable!
