July has been bustling here at the Inn at Pleasant Lake.  Our wonderful guests have been watching our family of loons grow while enjoying the beautiful beach and many water activities.  Guests are also having fun in the surrounding area for hiking, fishing,  boating, antiquing, and so on!  Last weekend, we narrowly avoided a rescue campaign for one of our guests who veered off the trail slightly, but she thankfully returned safely.  We were ready to go get her! Thank goodness for cell phones, water bottles and marked trails!

Several guests have been engaging in one of our personal favorite activities – attending musicals at the New London Barn Playhouse.  All of the shows have been sensational and the Barn Players are incredibly talented.  It is such a joy for us when our guests come to stay and take in a show.  Several of the “Barnie” parents have chosen to stay at the Inn which is very special for us, but also creates an added experience for our guests.  Our daughter, Abbie, is current cast in “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”, which opened this week.  It is a musical based on the movie from the late 1980’s starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin.  The show is top notch, very funny, great voices, singing and dancing and tons of fun.  It is running now through August 2nd – check out the Barn’s website for more details: nlbarn.org.
